A Motorola service shop in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL that specializes in Two-Way radio and related equipment is looking for an experienced service technician/bench technician to become a member of their team.

They are looking for a 50/50 technician idealy. This person will need to have the bench technician portion of working hands on with the radio equipment, installing the equipment, etc. They will also be looking for the field portion of the position as well in that they are looking for a person with the radio network experience as well such as Astro or Starcom. This person will need to be familiar with the base station and receiver site equipment as well. This person will need to have experience or knowledge in trunking concepts also.

Day to day duties will involve break-fix work on Motorola and other manufacturer's two-way radio equipment. This is 24X7, on call work in which the technician will be dispatched to customer sites to repair and maintain both 2 way radio Network Devices, subscriber units and related equipment.

Our client's coverage area will be Northeast Illinois (Rockford to Kankakee to the Wisconsin boarder to Lake Michigan).

Technicians will be provided a company vehicle to go to and from customer sites.

Skills Required for this position:

- 2 year Technical degree and or 4 Years field experience.
- 2 Way Radio Experience involving repair, install, commission etc?
- Astro or Starcom network equivalent experience needed (Base station, receiver site, trunking experience, etc.)
- 911 Switch strong preference not absolute requirement.
- Broadband and networking (IP) experience a plus.

Our client is looking for 2 Way radio manufacturing experience primarily with Motorola but they are also interested in people experienced with Kenwood, Z tron, M/A Com, CML, Orbitcom or EF Johnson brands.
